Before the realisation that none of us will be primary school teachers, the group were busy setting up their lessons to teach that morning. The activities ranged from paper origami with Elizabeth and Hannah, Geography knowledge with Olivia, Elisa and Miss St Ledger, Bolly-fit with Maddie and Rowan and dance party with Elia and Sophia. We had a wonderful morning despite being completely shattered afterwards, as it gave us the chance to share their experience of school life.

The group were then given a tour around the medical centre at Udayan, giving us the opportunity to learn more about leprosy as a disease and how it affects the community. We also learnt how two of the boys were still undergoing treatment for leprosy, a reminder of the importance of Udayan to help overcome the barriers to diagnosing and treating the disease.

After some more bonding time with the girls and welcoming back some of the exam students, we were all treated to a Bollywood movie, ‘Tiger’! The film encompassed everything from topical political issues to the importance of love, with an added song and dance rap at the end in true Bollywood style. It was a hit for everyone.

It was another eventful yet amazing day at Udayan, and the group are more than happy to be back to literally the happiest place on earth!
