rnrnI am currently in my second year of sixth form and am studying A levels in English Literature, Drama & Theatre Studies and Media studies. I would like to progress onto university to do a degree in Media. I applied to visit Udayan because it is a charity that I have supported throughout primary school as well as secondary school. I have heard from past students who have been to Udayan about what an excellent experience it was for them. This trip will be a fantastic opportunity for me to see at first-hand how St Joan’s ongoing support is making a difference to the lives of the Udayan children.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the St Joan of Arc Udayan Mission 2017, for our visit to India in February 2017. Udayan has been a whole school charity for St Joan’s since 2004 and the 2017 mission will be the seventh trip students from the school have made to visit Udayan. We hope that our website will provide readers with an insight into Udayan and our travels through our daily diary written by us, the students, along with photographs.

The group who will be going to India to visit Udayan includes 8 students (Francesca Davies, Katherine Gallagher, Sian Hows, Isabella McGowan, Natasha Neal, Holly O’Donovan, Ethan O’Mara, James Shorne), Mrs Weldon – a trustee of City of Joy Aid, UK, Liam Lynch and former student and trustee – Chris Mann.
