Welcome to St Joan of Arc’s Udayan Mission 2024

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the St Joan of Arc Udayan Mission 2024, for our visit to India in February 2024. Udayan has been a whole school charity for St Joan’s since 2004 and the 2024 mission will be the ninth trip students from the school have made to visit Udayan. We hope that our website will provide readers with an insight into Udayan and our travels through our daily diary written by us, the students, along with photographs.

The countdown begins…

FIND OUT MORE ABOUT OUR JOURNEY

We look forward to telling you all about our time on a daily basis from India!

Titagarh

What a day! Definitely our busiest so far, jam-packed to the brim! We kicked it off observing a 7am intensive karate session with an even more intense sensei. Breakfast revealed that the Traitors had attempted to murder Michael in the night.

Is it too late now to say saree

For those who rose early today began with clearing up the mess made by last night's storm. We helped as much as we could, although the culture of being a host is to prevent a guest from doing any dirty work.

Never trust the weather app

Today we attempted to wake up early for the full experience of a day at Udayan. The call to prayer from the local mosque managed to wake some of the group up at 5am, whilst others were woken to the pitter-patter of little feet around the building.
